Our First 5 Years

Defeated 6 major animal rights bills in Ohio during our first 5 years, and worked with
county and city officials to review existing ordinances. These included:

Helped to defeat major animal rights bills in West Virginia and Missouri.

Assisted in organizing animal owner associations in Indiana and Michigan.

Worked with Ohio Farm Bureau to write legislation that secured "exotic" meat inspection in 1994.

Formed affiliations with national organizations supporting responsible animal use.

Published a bi-monthly newsletter containing legislative updates and animal care and safety tips.

Established a mail list of friendly industry groups to keep them advised of issues we have in common.

Provided presentations to 4-H groups, breeders associations and other animal use groups concerning the
animal rights agenda, and appeared on radio talk shows and television news programs.

Monitored pending legislation in Ohio and other states, as well as federal legislation affecting animal ownership.
 
 

Our Second 5 Years

Assisted in organizing animal owner associations in Illinois, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota.

Served on the Ohio Cervid Advisory Committee re: health issues in captive deer and elk.
