BRETT

I am 29 years old and holding, I have a great family who has always supported my Metal addiction (even thru all the ripped jeans, tattoos, earrings, and what the hell were those stupid things I wore around my boots days). The first Album I ever owned was The J. Geils Band "Freezeframe" but I was listening to music of all kinds at Birth. Some may say I live in the past.....but hey, if it was fun why not try and keep it going. Who can forget the first time they thought it was cool to scrawl F.T.W. on your school desk, or the anticipation of Saturday night and Headbangers Ball, and buying that brand new pair of Jeans only to get home and rip them to shreds. Thats why I had the idea for this Page, you've got your 50s nostalgia, your 60s hippies, and your 70s Baby boomers, well I dont fit in to those categories, thats not when I grew up! I grew up in the most kick ass Decade of all.....THE 80s.....so Rock On! And when I listen to those songs I still get pumped up, I cant describe the way this music makes me feel, but Im betting theres alot more of you who feel the same....and this Page is for You! As far as the most influential band of the 80s in Metal, I have to agree with Jason...........MOTLEY FU***NG CRUE!

TOP 5 ALBUMS

1.Motley Crue "Shout at the Devil"

2.(tie)Ratt"Invasion of your Privacy" and Dokken "Tooth and Nail"

3.Twisted Sister "Love is for Suckers"

4.(tie)Giuffria "Silk and Steel" and Black n' Blue "In Heat"

5.Faster Pussycat "Self Titled"

JASON

Im 26 years old and happily married to a woman that, although sometimes embarrassed, supports my Metal addiction. I feel that Heavy Metal in the 80s did to New wave what Punk did to Disco in the 70s, Kicked its Ass! Therefore like punk and so many other great things it was short lived, it achieved its purpose and moved on. I think it was the most amazing thing while it was here and thats the way I like to remember it. Who can forget Arena Rock and all the great spectacles at every concert, remember the first time you saw Tommy Lees kit tilt to an angle and exclaim "NO FU***IN WAY!". The first album I owned was "Diver Down" by (at the time) The Mighty Van Halen, but my sisters were always jammin to Kiss, Priest, and all the great bands in the 70s, so I guess i was destined to Metalhood. My choice for most influential Band of the 80s is Motley Crue, they Kicked the 80s in the ass!
